Mathare slum is one of the largest slums in Kenya, home to a lot of small& poorly-structured social projects. One of it, is this NGO, which focuses its services on educating orphanage children.
Give that its located within the proximity of Nairobi, you can still be able to live & stay in the city centre, and make your way everyday to the organization to create your impact. Here, you will be working directly with the school head & organization founder to help transform the organization's operation & make it more sustainable. In certain occasions, you will also be able to teach.
What you'll do
Consulting on different ways in which the NGO can improve on its day-to-day operations.
Develop a sustainable plan to keep receiving volunteers in the future (including creating the position roles).
Restructure the NGO's fundraising initiatives.
Occasionally teach English, Math & Science in the class.
Create sports & health programs for the students.
